Nick began his career in 2008 at Intermountain Healthcare, doing hospital operating and capital budgets. His interest piqued in understanding the uncontrolled rising costs in healthcare, which resulted in getting involved in new payment models across the industry. As a result, Nick has held instrumental roles influencing change both within Intermountain Healthcare and across the country in the journey towards value-based care. With Intermountain’s launch of Castell (Intermountain's’ value-based platform company), he now leads their Population Health strategy. Including driving change both in how care is paid for, from government and commercial payers, and how those risk contracts roll out across a broad network of providers. He is accountable for the performance of a broad network of both employed and affiliated providers across Utah and serves as President of Intermountain Accountable Care. Particular areas of specialization include risk-based contracting, bundled payments, Medicare Shared Savings, physician comp models, and clinically integrated network strategy. He is also accountable for the development and operations of the Intermountain at Home strategy inclusive of primary care and hospital services in the home. Nick earned his BS degree in business finance from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Southern Utah University.
