Dr. Bansal is currently the Director of the NASH Center of Excellence, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She was formerly VP of Population Health Quality and Efficiency, Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Mount Sinai Health Partners, the population health platform for the Mount Sinai Health System, and Director of Quality of Assurance for New York Medical Partners ACO. Her focus has been on building a population health infrastructure that will allow an urban academic health system to be successful in value-based care. Dr. Bansal is a Professor of Medicine and a physician-scientist with an NIH-funded lab focusing on how HIV promotes hepatic inflammation and fibrosis. She is currently the principal investigator for several clinical trials in NASH and is Secretary of the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD).
